Bob Bessen, Founder and President
Bob founded Soaring 20s in 2020, and brings 20 years of experience with mentoring, coaching and educating Arizona youth. A pension actuary by trade, Bob dedicates his spare time to helping prepare children, teens and young adults develop into intelligent, self-respecting adults. Through his experiences, Bob has come to appreciate the tremendous value of successful mentoring relationships, and foresees his “rolling mentoring” concept as a linchpin to Soaring 20s’ success. Until 2016, Bob served as Board President of Camp Swift Youth Foundation, and volunteered further with Latino/a high school students by offering SAT preparation and college preparation counseling. Bob also helps to run Arizona Odyssey of Mind programs, is a guest lecturer for the Arizona State University Actuarial Science Department, and teaches religious school. He married his high school sweetheart, Amy, and they’re both so proud of their 3 adult children, as they begin their own families.
